1. Apple iPhone SE4
Top 10 Best Upcoming Phones For 2025 : Apple’s most affordable iphone model looks set to drop any day now. Various leakers had pegged February on
March as the launch date launch date for the fourth – gen SE, and have basically given the game away about what to expect on the hardware front.
It will apparently , inertly inherit styling from the iPhone 14 , with flat sides and a 6.1in OLED screen bringing the iPhone SE bang up to date.
That’s a big changes from the outgoing model which, has old – school Touch ID and a piddly 4.7 in screen . Dynamic Island is unlikely to make the cut , and the Action button probably won’t appear either; expect a notch and a traditional alert slider instead.
Apple will stick to a single rear camera lens , according to dummy handset leaks now doing the rounds .
An A17 pro chip is expected, along with 8GB of RAM , so the phone can support Apple Intelligence.
USB – C connectivity is a given as, European ruling now prevent Apple from selling Lightning – equipped devices.
A price rise seems likely for all the new hardware , and apple may even change the name to the iPhone 16SE – though there’s little evidence for it right now.
In the meantime , the current SE remains the cheapest way into iOS without shopping second – hand :

2. One Plus Open 2 / Oppo Find N5
Top 10 Best Upcoming Phones For 2025 : OnePlus arguably cracked the fordable phone formula with the Open , which is sold as the Oppo Find N3 in many markets – or at least it did on the software side
. The Open Canvas multitasking has yet to be bettered anywhere else, and the rest of the phone was a bit of stunner too . The sequel is set to be more of the same – only a heck of a lot thinner .
Oppo showed off the Find N5’s design ahead of an official unveiling , and it’ll be Oppo that strikes first – expect the one plus version to follow a little later.
If you don’t want to wait for an official reveal – or fancy saving a bit of cash, the original Oneplus Open is still available at a tidy discount its original retail prices :
3. Google Pixel 9a
Google has only recently overheated its mainline pixel range with a smaller Pro ans borough the Fold on side as well.
Rumor suggest the could be it for the Pixel 9 generation , with a cheaper 9a off the cards – but other leasers have indicated that’s not the case .
If we do get a Pixel 9a, expect it to hover around the $500/ £500 mark and dilute down the pixel 9’s Gemini AI smarts , clever rear cameras and fresh new design into something a little more wallet friendly.
Pixel fans could be in for a long wait until the 9a arrives – it it does at all . So in the meantime , the pixel 8a is still a super b buy:
4. Nothing Phone 3
Ones the upcoming phones I’m genuinely most excited about , Nothing’s long – awaited flagship looks set to debut later this year.
The design – led firm is known fore its unique glyph lighting, fondness for handsets have been focused on the affordable end of the spectrum.
A first true flagship will almost certainly get a top – end Snapdragon 8 Elite or Dimensity 9400 chip set , big battery , sizeable OLED screen end three rear cameras.
An internal company email sent from founder Carl Pei also hints at “(breakthrough innovations in user interface ” ans a focus on AI features , to help complete with the likes of Samsung and Google at the high end.
A new version of Nothing OS ( complete with extra widgets ) seems like a given , as does a new take on the glyph LEDs.
It’s expected to appear some time in Q1 , but until it does , the Nothing phone 2 remains the firm’s top offering – and can be had for mid – range money:
Phone on sale in China – and heading to the West soon
5. Xiaomi 15 Series
One of the first commercially available phones with Snapdragon 8 Elite internals , the Xiaomi 15 series had it all to prove .
Early reports out of China suggest it has delivered , with lower power consumption, stronger performance, faster AI processing and higher quality gaming. The other major upgrade seems to be battery.
The regular Xiaomi 15 has a compact 6.36 in display , yet finds room inside for a 5400mAh cell; the larger 6.73 in Xiaomi 15 Pro tops out at 6100 mAh . Both are big improvements over the previous generation, and larger than you’ll find in any Western flagship.
Both phones follow current design trends with flat frames and curved corners. Each has a trio of 50mp rear cameras , with the pro’s 5x telephoto zoom and macro focus abilities being a reason to upgrade.
There’s no clure right now if Xiaomi is also working on a photography – focused Xiaomi 15 Ultra .Given the outgoing Xiaomi 14 Ultra was one of our favorite camera phones of 2024, we’re hoping we won’t have to wait too long to see a sequel.
The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will almost certainly see a global launch in early 2025, possibly around Mobile World Congress in March.
Until then, the Xiaomi 14 remains one of the most potent small Android phones around, and can be found at tempting prices:</p>

6. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Top 10 Best Upcoming Phones For 2025 : Samsung’s latest non – folding flagship isn’t a ground – up reworking of its predecessor, but does add a few nice – to – haves like a speedy Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, new 50MP ultrawide snapper with macro shooting smarts , and a flatter , curvier design more in keeping with the rest of the S25 range.
The firm has focused more on software this year, integrating Galaxy AI across Android and borrowing some Gemini skills from Google . S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra owners really won’t need to think about upgrading , but for anyone with an older handset this has everything but the kitchen sink.
7. Samsung Galaxy S25/S25+
You’ll rally have to look hard to spot the differences between this year’s mainstream Galaxy models and last year’s .
A few mild design tweaks ans some new colors are basically all you get on the outside , while under neath a new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and more RAM for the S25.
The smaller of the two remains the de facto choice for a compact flagship , though ,with great cameras, a gorgeous screen and sensible asking price.
8. Honor Magic 7 Pro
Slick styling , a top tier screen and wicked performance should be a given for any Honor flagship .
The Magic 7 Pro also goes big no photography, of course – buy its the AI – infused super Zoom abilities the set it apart from rivals.
It’s one of few Android phones with secure facial recognition, and the MagicOS skin has some very clever multitasking tools. It’s a left field choice , perhaps , but one that’ll impress you just about everywhere.
9. OnePlus 13
An impressive refinement on what was already a capable , flagship killer , even if the price continues to climb that little bit closer premium territory.
The OnePlus 13 has top – tier performance a huge battery, modern styling and an impressive set of rear cameras . There are Samsung and Google .
10. Asus ROG Phones 9 Pro
The first Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone to make its way to Western audiences , the ROG phone 9 Pro doesn’t skimp on performance one iota.
Revised cooling and oodles of RAM give it the edge in games, while the built – in – air triggfers keep the OLED screen free of onscreen controls.
The somewhat subtle styling of the outgoing phones returns ( just with fancier AniMe Vision LEDs on the rear) and it remains one of the best gaming phones for photography .
